CIMA Certificate at Kalamon Institute of Arabic Language
CIMA is the first internationally recognized certificate for the Arabic language (Modern Standard Arabic) from the “Institut du monde arabe” (Institute of the Arab World, Paris). Unlike with other languages, a certificate proving one’s level of proficiency in Arabic is not yet the norm. However, especially when looking for a job, proof of language skills is essential. The CIMA is aimed at all interested parties over the age of 15, for all levels (A1 – C2).
The evaluation is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The test lasts three hours and is divided into four compulsory modules:
- Listening comprehension: multiple-choice test, duration: 30 – 35 minutes.
- Reading comprehension: multiple-choice test, duration: 45 minutes.
- Writing competence: three written parts of 30 – 100 words each, duration: 60 minutes.
- Speaking competence: four topics selected by the examiner, duration: 10 minutes.
The test will take place on June 30 and November 15, 2021.
It will be held at the premises of the Kalamon Institute for Arabic Language in Berlin.
The application deadlines are May 10th and September 25th of this year for the second appointment.
The certificate will be issued after the test and is valid for three years.
