Description

This intensive weekend seminar invites participants to immerse themselves in the world of the ney instrument. Led by Özlem Yilmaz, the workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of the history, spiritual significance, and technical mastery of the instrument. It is designed for both beginners who wish to discover the ney and experienced musicians looking to deepen their understanding of modal music traditions.

For those who have never played the ney or are dissatisfied with their sound, this workshop provides the perfect opportunity to start fresh. Over two intensive days, we will approach the ney from the ground up, focusing on producing the first tones or improving existing sound quality. If you’ve tried to produce a tone from the ney but struggled, we will face the challenge together and build a closer connection to the instrument.
